简　　介

迈阿密狡猾的商人卡特（科尔•豪瑟 Cole Hauser 饰）利用自己的贸易公司做幌子，暗中进行着国际洗钱活动。虽然FBI对他监视已久，但是卡特平日十分小心谨慎，几乎与世隔绝，所以一直没找到他的犯罪证据。FBI获悉了卡特十分喜欢地下赛车，是当地飞车党的头目。为了获得他的 犯罪证据，只好找上一集中成功破获洛杉矶飞车党劫车案的布赖恩（保罗•沃克 Paul Walker 饰）重新出山。
　　布赖恩凭借出色的车技、和飞车党一起进行犯罪活动很快就赢得了卡特的信任，并和他成了好朋友。同时，另一名同为飞车党卧底的女警梦妮卡（伊娃•门德斯 Eva Mendes 饰）闯进了布赖恩的生活，布赖恩不知不觉中爱上了梦妮卡。梦妮卡已经获得了不少卡特的犯罪证据，但是她和卡特之间的暧昧关系却说不清道不明。
幕后揭秘
　　2001年的暑期票房炸弹《速度与激情》可谓轰动了世界影坛，以区区3800万的成本在全球狂赚两亿多美元，但对于成功制作人尼尔·H·莫里兹(Neal H.Moritz)来说，这令人惊讶的票房佳绩却完全在他意料之中，因为影片中惊心动魄的情节、动力强劲的改装车、演员的火辣表演和流畅而前卫的电影技术完全满足了寻求刺激的观众。事实证明，影片的成功不仅仅表现在票房，哪怕是一向苛刻的影评人也给予了影片很高的评价。
　　莫里兹说：“因为《速度与激情》激起了强烈反响，所以我们知道已经扣动了年轻观众的心弦，我相信我们的电影已经融入了街头赛车文化，影迷由此产生共鸣，并且继续支持着《速度与激情》的DVD及视频。我们知道他们已经为续集做好准备，而我们必须坚持拍摄续集的前提，那就是一如既往的真实和前卫。”
　　在Teen Research Unlimited市场调查公司公布的调查结果中，《速度与激情》是2002年秋季和2003年春季美国青少年最喜爱的电影，在影片成功的背后，是对青年文化的强烈渴求，巨大的商机也随之显现。
　　当导演约翰·辛格顿看到《速度与激情》时，突然产生了似曾相识的感觉，他说：“当时我在想，天呐，我为什么没想到？我在洛杉矶南中部地区长大，那时候我们整天都在玩街头赛车。我们在街边把换上时髦轮毂和各种动力系统的车子一字排开，深夜里，引擎的轰鸣会淹没数条街区，我在《街坊的男孩子们》中就曾提到过。”
　　在辛格顿顺利签约担纲本片导演后，他和制作人莫里兹及编剧都开始挖空心思的寻求更能吸引眼球的新鲜元素，最终，他们决定求助于血管里流动着汽油的赛车迷。辛格顿回忆说：“我们在西海岸发布了招募广告，希望在影片中借用到更多的改装赛车。我们在互联网上登出通知，让车主们到圣莫尼卡的一个停车场集合。当时通知才发布36小时，我们估计大概会有100辆车到场。然而在集合当天，当地的交通堵塞非常严重，因为有700多辆车蜂拥而至，有些人是从西雅图特地赶来的。”最终，剧组选用了其中的192辆。
　　为了保证续集的速度与激情，制片方再度请来了汽车改装大师克雷格·李伯曼(Craig Lieberman)作影片的技术顾问。和他一同工作的还有一批颇具天赋的特技车手，在众多经验老到的车手中，有些人曾参与《速度与激情》的拍摄，其中著名女车手黛比·埃文斯(Debbie Evans)就凭借该片而赢得了世界特技大奖。
　　环球影业将本片拍摄经费的大部分用于打造和得到片中出现的190辆酷车，除此之外，还有将近400辆车成为了片中的“临时演员”。
　　在本片中，摄制组继续使用了在首部中应用到的特制摄影车，其中包括装有轿车外壳的卡车，不但具备高速性能，还可以拍摄下车手在高速过弯时身体的受力反应；装有摄影机、类似于沙滩车的“shift car”，最高时速可以超过100英里，可以从前后左右同步拍摄行驶中的车辆。另外，摄制组还使用了消除高速震动的“moro-cam”，由此呈现出更加稳定的图像。
　　片中共有15辆跑车成为“主角”，其中包括日产Skyline GTR、三菱EVO 7、1970年款Hemi道奇Challenger、1969年款Yenko Camaro、1998年款宝马M3、2003年款道奇蝰蛇、雪佛兰考维特、1994年款丰田Supra、1994年款马自达RX7、2001年款本田S2000和1993年款讴歌NSX。
　　片中跑车五光十色的外表大部分由制作设计师基思·布莱恩·伯恩斯(Keith Brian Burns)指导完成，从车漆颜色、车体部件，到轮毂和立体声扬声器全都一丝不苟。由于影片所用车辆众多，于是剧组聘用了40名全职机械师，除了保障车辆的正常使用之外，他们还挑选出一些废车场里的废弃车辆，将其重新修复和喷涂，从而变废为宝
